Comparing 2-Digit Numbers

Grades: 1st Grade, 2nd Grade
Subjects: Math
Standards: Compare two two-digit numbers based on meanings of the tens and ones digits, recording the results of comparisons with the symbols >, =, and <. (1.NBT.3.)

Student Instructions

1. Use the drawing to write the > , < , or = symbol in the circle that shows the comparison of the two numbers. **Remember the alligator 🐊 always wants to eat the biggest number (ex: 23 < 97)! 2. Tap the mic to record your voice reading each comparison sentence (ex: 23 is less than 97) 3. Tap the green check to submit your work.

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

Students will use the >, =, < symbols to compare 2-digit numbers. Then underline or highlight the place value digit to show how they know.
